I don’t know what’s more upsetting about this news story on NPR: that someone would do that (steal from an educational institution), or that the recording sold for under $40. The transcript did say that the reel wasn’t well marked, so it’s likely that the buyer was simply unaware of what was on it. I hope they didn’t somehow ruin or destroy the recording because of that unawareness....
